BEA has announced that Weblogic V10 is out. At my current work, we use mostly 8.1 and recently we started using 9.2. 9.2 from my perspective is an absolute flop. We have had issues with it deploying applications on Linux, and not only that, it takes around 50 clicks to get something done!
It sounds like I’m not the only winger. From the BEA site:
I ‘m a little irritated that BEA has plowed ahead with a new version before spending the time to make 9.2 production quality. During development on our current portal project, our developers tracked the time that they spent waiting for things like: Weblogic start up, publishing, building, etc. — essentially downtime from a developer’s perspective. It averaged 1-2 hours per day. It’s unacceptable.
We’re seriously considering moving to JBoss.

I have to agree with the above comment to some degree. Does this really differ enough to justified as a new release, or should it be 9.3?
I really DO want to downgrade to 8.1 at times. So why should we use v10?! JBOSS is definitely looking like a good alternative.

Whinger, not winger. I’m a whinger too.
Also, I notice your google ads are serving PSAs – have you looked into why that is?
Also, the ad is way down the page – I had to scroll down to comment before I saw it. You’d get more visibility if it was higher up the page..
That’s better – now it’s advertising a book on WebSphere – and “Need to create a blog?” :p
But as i remember, you can use deployment to 9.2 from WLST or weblogic.Deployer, not from wlsconsole?
I create domain template for my application on wl9.2 and it works, you can just create domain, deploy application on one script.
Also, you can use nostage option for deployment and deploy application from Bea workshop.
